Narrated 'Umar ibn Abi Salamah (RA): I was a boy under the care of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). While eating, I would put my hands in different places of the pot. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me, “This boy! Say Bismillah, eat, and the next part of your right to eat! "After the meal, I'm going to follow the instructions.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
Bismillaah
In the Name of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was eating with his six Companions when a desert Arab came and ate up the food in two mouthfuls. Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Had he mentioned the Name of Allah, it would have sufficed for all of you." -(The dua is mentioned above)
And if he forgets to say 'Bismillaah', let him say -
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ اَوَّلَهٗ وَاٰخِرَهٗ
Bismillaahi 'awwalahu wa 'aakhirah
In the name of Allah, in the beginning and in the end.
